The Block Challenge is open to anyone, not just Valley Quilt Guild members. Funds generated by the Quilt Show help the Valley Quilt Guild continue its community outreach, donating quilts to various organizations such as Veteran Services, Red Cross, Job & Family Services Foster/Adoption unit, area hospitals and more. Once you have seen all the Valley Quilt Guild Quilt Show has to offer stop over at the Reeves Home & Museum located at 325 E. Iron Ave, Dover, Ohio. By separate admission fee the Reeves Home & Museum will have a display of vintage quilts on October 20th and 21st. Plan to tour the Reeves Home and see this beautiful display of quilts. This summer our guild will be partnering with the Reeves Museum to display vintage quilts throughout the 17 room Victorian home. None of the quilts will be hung as in a traditional quilt show, but instead will be hung on railings and quilt racks or placed on furniture that belonged to the Reeves family. The quilts will be on display from June 7 to October 22, which will tie in nicely with our own quilt show October 20 - 21. Hopefully out of town guests attending our quilt show will extend their visit by stopping by the Reeves Museum for a tour. I will have registration forms with me at our April guild meeting for anyone interested in having a vintage quilt (1970 or older) displayed in the museum which will be open beginning June 1, Wednesday - Sunday. Museum hours are 12:00 - 4:00 with extend ed hours on the day of our quilt show. If you have never visited the Reeves Museum, this would be the summer to do so. Stop by the museum and see this beautiful home as it was when the Reeves family lived there in 1901....... and of course see all the quilts! Each tour is led by a guide and will take approximately an hour.
